If you enter the LEZ without having registered your vehicle in time, your vehicle will be added to the list of vehicles that are not admitted during the enforcement procedure. You will then receive an administrative fine. Registration is compulsory and must be done within the required time limit. The date of registration is crucial: if you register your vehicle after being fined, you will still have to pay the fine.
